Stephanie Bussi

Beloved mother of Millard Bussi, Kathy Bussi, and Kevin Bussi,
and beloved grandmother of Kevin Earl Bussi, and August Bussi-Smith.
Stef will be remembered by so many, not only in our Temple Israel family, but also in the Long Beach Community, where she volunteered and worked to make the world a kinder and better place for everyone.
Stef, a retired Occupational Therapist, hailed from New York. After moving to California, she worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood until multiple sclerosis forced her to retire. She then served the community by sitting on many Boards, including the Board of Directors for Housing in Long Beach, and was the State Delegate to Californians for Disability Rights (CDR).
Stef has been Temple Israel’s Homelessness Task Force Chair for many years now. She helped implement the partnership between the Temple and the Drop-In-Center/Urban Community Outreach. She was working on the project – feeding the homeless on December 25th – when illness overcame her, and she needed to be hospitalized. She will always been a Queen Regnant of the Ms Wheelchair California Pageant.
